Cross-Country Ramble 41: It is Finished!

Carol & Ken Lyon on the beach near St. Augustine, FL.Last night, we stayed just outside St. Augustine.

This morning, we woke to bright sunshine, cool dry temperatures in the low 70's and a tailwind that took us into St. Augustine in plenty of time for Easter services. We took a little time to walk around this oldest continuously occupied city in the US.

Finally, early in the afternoon, we biked the last five miles eastward to St. Augustine Beach, where we rode down to the beach, sprinkled our bikes with Atlantic Ocean water and spent a few moments telling a few slightly-interested bystanders that we'd just finished our cross-country journey.

We checked into our motel, cooled a split of Champagne, and drank it out of plastic glasses we found in our room.

Suddenly I'm exhausted.
